The Mississippi Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center was established in 1984 to treat orthopaedic problems and athletic injuries using the latest technology and state of the art equipment to guide patients through subsequent rehabilitation for complete recovery.
Each of the ten physicians in our group is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. All of our physicians have had further training from such notable institutions as The Hospital for Special Surgery, The Hughston Sports Medicine Clinic, Jackson Sports Center of Canada; The Mayo Clinic, Tuckahoe Orthopaedic Clinic, UCLA, Duke University, and the American Institute of Sports Medicine. They have also studied at internationally acclaimed clinics in Switzerland and Germany. This background allows us to draw from vast experience in treating the injured athlete or general orthopaedic patient. At Mississippi Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center, our goal is to treat orthopaedic problems, as well as the athletic injury, with expertise utilizing the latest technology and to guide the individual through subsequent rehabilitation to a complete recovery. Our physicians regularly attend scientific meetings and continuing education courses in orthopaedic surgery and sports medicine to stay abreast of the latest technological developments. The physicians are involved with local athletes, maintain affiliations with several schools, and actively participate in ongoing research in sports medicine and general orthopaedic surgery. MSMOC also serves as team physicians for a number of colleges in Jackson and around the state.
